THOUGHT PATTERN #2 PRAYER SAMPLES

-Father, I am Thy son/daughter, born & reared in the courts of glory. I know Thou lovest me with perfect love. Help me feel Thy love this day, as I value myself as Thou valuest me.

-Father in Heaven, help me to feel my great worth this day. I know that it is my responsibility to value myself as Thou valuest me. I know that only I can determine what will become dominant within my temple. I know that as I hold the truth that I am Thy child, that I am born & reared in Thy courts of glory, with Thy help I can make these feelings dominant.

-I know that that Thou lovest me beyond any measure. It is y responsibility to feel Thy love for me, moment by moment, for Thou never stoppeth loving me. Thy love for me is not based upon what I do, what I say, what I think, or how I feel. It is perfect love. I accept full responsibility to feel my great worth & sustain very high self esteem within me.

-I know that I am born & reared in Thy courts of glory, by Thee 7 Heavenly Mother, that I am a noble, faithful spirit. I was faithful in the pre-existance & was given the right & privilege to come unto this earth life in this most glorious age in the history of man upon the earth. I was not sent to this earth to prove my worth, but to feel my great worth as Thy son.

-I know Thou art my Father. I know that Thou lovest me. I know that Thou & Heavenly Mother value me beyond any measure. I know that Thou hast given me my eternal intelligence spirit form, just as my earthly mother & father have given me a mortal body. I know that I am unique, one of a kind, made of eternal intelligence which gives me a claim upon eternal life.

-Help me Father to see myself & my family with my spiritual eyes, to see their greatness, to see their godliness, to see them in Thy presence. As I feel Thy perfect love for me, I will be able to feel Thy perfect love for them. As I treat myself with awe 7 respect, I will be able to treat my family with awe & respect.

-I see all others as great spiritual beings, born & reared in the courts of glory by Thee & Heavenly Mother. These feelings are sustained not by what they do, nor by what they say, nor by how they treat me, but by my knowledge & testimony of who they are & what they can become, if they so choose. I know that most people act contrary to their true identity, but I know who they are & what their destiny can be. I treat all people, including myself, as Thou wouldst have me do according to our true identity, and not how they treat themselves nor how they treat me.

**HOW I FEEL ABOUT OTHERS IS ONLY A REFLECTION OF HOW I FEEL ABOUT MYSELF**

HIGH FEELINGS OF SELF WORTH

What is your main source for feelings of self worth? Are your sources from the temporal or spiritual world? Review the list below to see if you are using these sources for your feelings of self worth.

A. Performance:

1. I feel of greater worth when I:
-lost weight, keep the commandments, my children do well, my marriage is going well.

2. I fee somewhat worthless when I:
-I gain weight, break the commandments, my children get kicked out of school, or when my marriage is not doing well.

B. Possessions:

1. I feel of greater worth when my:
-Home & car is as good as my friends, my bills are being paid, my clothes are as nice if not better than others.

2. I feel of lesser value when my:
-Friends can pay their bills & live in a much better home, my car keeps breaking down, and my clothes are always the same.

C. Opinions:

1. I feel I have greater worth when:
-Others praise me, recognize what I do, like my new outfit, accept me just the way I am, appreciate the effort I am making.

2. I feels of lesser value when:
-No one recognizes what I do, as if I do not count nor exist. No one accepts my opinions, and everyone wants me to be different.

D. Honors:

1. I feel of greater worth when:
-I am called into leadership positions, I finish my degree(s) & people look up to my job.

2. I feel of lesser value because:
-I never finish my degree. They keep diving the ward, and I am never called to leadership positions. My occupation is not respected.

** ALL THE ABOVE SOURCES CREATE A DEPENDENCY UPON THE TEMPORAL WORLD FOR YOUR FEELINGS OF SELF WORTH, AND THUS CREATE LOW FEELINGS OF SELF WORTH**
****************************************************************************
THE MAIN SOURCE FOR HIGH FEELINGS OF SELF WORTH COMES FROM THE SPIRITUAL WORLD, AND IS FOUNDED UPON TWO CONCEPTS
SPIRITUAL WORTH means for one to value himself as he is valued by his eternal parents and his Elder Brother, Jesus Christ.
(RSC 1980-1981, pg. 140)
SPIRITUAL PERFORMANCE occurs when one centers his heart & mind upon Heavenly Father & serves Him with all his soul.
One's performance determines which kingdom he will spend in eternity, and has nothing to do with his worth. Heavenly Father loves him with perfect love, it never varies. It is never based upon performance, for it is perfect love. One performs to glorify his Father in Heaven. One performs to qualify for His divine grace, his divine assistance. One performs to qualify for His Spirit, and for the riches of eternity. One never uses the good feelings of performance to honor oneself (glorify self). If he does, the Savior says, "you have your reward." When one performs out of the love he feels for Heavenly Father, the act is written in the book of life, if he is on the straight & narrow path. When one performs to create feelings of self worth, the act is not recorded in the book of life.
When a person gets good feelings or bad feelings from the temporal world (through performances, opinions of others, possessions, & from the honors of men) he never uses them to determine his worth. These feelings are conditional and if he uses them to create feelings of self worth, then he is choosing to accept the world's position on worth, that is conditional, and not choosing to accept Heavenly father's position on worth, that one's worth is unconditional.
Spiritual performance is essential for one to create high feelings of self worth, since this type of performance is necessary for one to have the Spirit. And the Holy Ghost is the source that witnesses to him of who he is and how God values him. One must be in the light in order to feel God's perfect love, & keeping the commandments is how one stays in the light.

Spiritual Performance is essential to developing HIGH FEELINGS OF SELF WORTH

Principle #1 The Holy Ghost, the comforter, will help one feel & expand one's capacity to feel God's perfect love.
"...which comforter filleth with hope and perfect love, which love endureth by diligence unto prayer,..."
(Moroni 8:26)
Principle #2 One must walk in the light in order to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost.
"If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin."
(I John 1:6-7)
"If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in His love."
(John 15:10)
Principle #3 The heavens standard for judging is based upon one's works, and the desire of one's heart.
"For I, the Lord, will judge all men according to their works, according to the desire of their hearts."
(D & C 137:9)
Principle #4 The more one performs out of the love he has for Heavenly Father, the greater the seperation of worth from performance, and the greater hope on has to receive the riches of eternity.

ALMA'S PROCESS to become ONE WITH CHRIST EXERCISING MY FAITH TO KNOW THE SEED IS GOOD Thought Pattern #2

SEE AS HE SEES - Understanding the Truth:
Put in writing the truth about who you are, why you are here on earth & how Heavenly Father & the Savior feel about you. Talk with Heavenly Father each morning midday and night about how He values you.

THING AS HE THINKS - Hold the truth in your mind, by prayer, throughout the day:
Find some short statement about how God feels about you. Put it in the form of a prayer. At least once each hour throughout the day, talk with Heavenly Father about who you are.

i.e., Father, I am Thy son, born & reared in Thy courts of glory I know Thou lovest me with perfect love. Help me to feel Thy love this day.

FEEL AS HE FEELS - Continue to pray about this truth until you receive a witness by the SPIRIT that the seed is good:
a. Use something in the temporal world to remind you to pray about the truth. Below are listed some examples;
1. Their daily planners b. A coin in the shoe c. Putting their watch on the other arm d. Using the pain they are going through to remind them to pray e. ext...

DO AS HE DOES :
Do these faith exercises out of the love you feel for Heavenly Father & the Savior.

Note:
How someone feels about another person is only a reflection of how he sees and feels about himself. How someone feels about you is determined by what he or she holds in the mind. If he doesn't like you, he has to hold inhis mind & heart something negative about you. If he likes you he has to hold in his mind & heart something positive about you. Therefore, he is in charge of what he feels about you.
You are in charge of how you feel about yourself and all others. The more you can feel your worth as a son or daughter of God, the easier it is to see & feel the worth of others, regardless of their performance or how choose to feel about you.

Creating HIGH Feelings Of Self Worth the SAVIORS WAY

HOW TO CREATE LOW FEELINGS OF SELF - WORTH

IT IS EASY - Just create a dependancy upon the World to make you feel of value.

You may use any of the following for your main source(s).
(However, some of these sources you believe in more than others & therefore, those sources will work much faster for you. Why? Because you have greater emotion attached to them, and you can maximize these negative feelings very quickly)

PERFORMANCE (weight-job-children-marriage)
1. When you gain 20 lbs, use this to make yourself feel of lesser of value
2. When you lose 20 lbs, use this to make yourself feel of greater value
3. When you lose your job, or get a promotion, use it to create feelings of worth
4. Use your children's performance (good or bad). This is a good source.
5. Use your divorce or your good marriage as a source for worth.

POSSESSIONS (bills-home-car-clothes)

1. When you cannot pay your bills, use these negative emotions to create low feelings of self worth. This is an effective source.
2. When you have a new home, or a new car, or new clothes, use these good feelings to confirm that you are a person of great worth.
3. Or if your home is the poorest on the block. Your car keeps quitting on you. And your clothes are never as nice as others. Use these feelings to determine your worth.

OPINIONS (approval-acceptance-appreciation)

1. Making other people your main source to determine your worth, is one of the greatest sources to create low feelings of self worth. Why? It creates a dependency upon the world (others) to make you feel of worth. And with that dependency, Satan can send people to find fault with your performance, or to have people not pay any attention to you.
2. Appreciation for what I do helps me determine if I will serve others or not. If someone appreciates my service I will continue. If they do not, I quit. Therefore, I let others determine what I will or will not do.

HONORS (positions-degrees-profession)

1. If I am not called to be Bishop, or quorum president, or Relief Society officer I feel that even Heavenly Father feels I am not as valuable as others. These kind of feelings are very good to transfer over to determine my value.
2. Or if I am called to leadership assignment, I use these feelings of acceptance to determine my worth.
3. If others look up to my chosen profession or look down upon my profession, these kinds of feelings will work.
4. If I am not a college graduate, I can create negative feelings about my intelligence and abilities an then use these feelings to value myself.
5. If I have several degrees and many of my colleagues recognize my expertise in my chosen field, I can use these feelings to sustain my value.
6. If I can talkl & think faster than most other people, I can create feelings of superiority which can sustain my value as a person of worth.

It makes no difference whether one uses the positive feelings from these sources to create good feelings of worth, or chooses to use the negative feelings from these sources to create bad feelings of self worth. Why? Because the main source for self feelings comes from the temporal world, and not from the spiritual.

"How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek noth te honour that cometh from God only?" (John 5:44)
